Naked Pinot

2007 Pinot Noir “Undone”
Reinhessen, Germany
10.99
Jen’s Notes

Here is a lesson in not judging a wine by its label. Once I got past the corset graphic, I found a really delightful, blessedly oak-less Pinot. It was smooth and fruity with fresh strawberries and herbs de Provence. I thought it was surprisingly ripe for a wine from a cooler climate. A bright zesty note on the medium-length finish closes the deal on this very enjoyable wine.

Spicy Suzeau

2007 Chateau Suzeau, Cotes du Rhone
$8.99
Shane’s Notes

Most of the CDR’s have a fruity grenache flavor like a Southern Rhone. We took a sip and pegged this CDR as more in the Northern Rhone style. The palate is rich and deep with a spicy, brambly, blackberry flavor and floral undertones. This wine is well balanced and flavorful. It is a steal for 9 bucks.
